Born in Charleston, South Carolina, I spent my childhood exploring creeks and crabbing off docks, with summers spent on my Pawpaw’s cattle farm. Seeing the vast differences in South Carolina subcultures got me excited to see the world.
At eighteen, I moved to Switzerland for a linguistic year. This led me to fine arts school in Paris and then to Montpellier, France. At art school, I craved constraints and more defined objectives, which drew me to study design. But before I started, I did a little more exploring – a month in Seoul, Korea, two months in the Dominican Republic, and six months backpacking and learning Spanish in Mexico.
Travel and learning about different people’s lifestyles inspire me most. The best part of traveling has been collecting stories. Storytelling through visual language is what excites me about branding and packaging design.
